Bernard Granger is Blexbolex
Born 1966 in France
Studied at the École des Beaux-Arts d’Angoulême
Lives and works in Paris and Berlin
Blexbolex is an illustrator and comic book artist. His work, which is inspired by vintage design, mixes old printing methods with new interpretations and techniques to create a stylish design in which features from children?s and adult books seamlessly intertwine.
Georg Barber is ATAK
Born 1967 in Frankfurt/Oder
Studied at the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin
Lives and works in Dresden
ATAK is a freelance illustrator, graphic designer and artist. Currently a teacher in Dresden, he is known for giving every aspect of the printing process careful consideration, thus creating work that bridges the gap between art and craft.
Both Blexbolex and ATAK have been self-publishing their books, which allows them to retain control over all apsects of the production process, right down to creating their own fonts. Even when shifting from underground press to mass production, their work manages to maintain the raw vintage style for which they are well known.
